Welcome to Patricia Winton's Author Page

Love, Lies

Patricia Winton sold her first piece of writing while still in high school. Seeing her name listed as author would have been reward enough, but she got five dollars, too. She fell in love with the Bobbsey Twins at the age of eight and has been hooked on mysteries since.

She fell in love with Italy at the age of twenty-two when she went there to live. She learned to make pasta by hand and took a pasta machine back to the U.S. when she returned. She taught a lot of people to make pasta, eventually teaching cooking classes at a local community college. That led to a newspaper column about food. She returned to live permanently in Rome in 2002.
For years, she toyed with the idea of writing mystery fiction, often plotting murders as a non-lethal way of seeking revenge against annoying people. But that was never serious work. In Rome, she has combined her passions for Italy, good food, and crime fiction to develop characters and plot lines exploring Italy’s culinary scene.

“Feeding Frenzy,” Patricia’s contribution to Fish Tales, is the first work featuring these elements. She has two works in progress that continue the tale.
Patricia holds a master’s degree in English and has taught at three American universities. She’s also worked as a writer and publicist for nonprofit organizations devoted to education, politics, and the arts. Visit her blog www.ItalianIntrigues.blogspot.com or her website www.PatriciaWinton.com
